Product development always starts with an idea. These ideas are formed by our clients. Ideas from the first step in the product development process. It is important that this process from idea to product is conducted appropriately. Botany provides clients with essential support and expertise during the product development process.

Establishing characteristics

After ideas have produced an initial product, characteristics of the product are further established. What are the specific effects of the product? What are the optimal environmental conditions? Which crops species are suitable for product application? What is the best modus of application? In this phase of the process uncertainties are excluded and main questions are addressed. Eventually, specific characteristics can be established that are necessary for optimal effectivity of the product.

Prototyping

The results of the characterising phase form the foundation for the prototyping phase. Effectivity of the product is further tested in practice. Products are tested in the same environmental conditions that are applicable for the consumer. An early version of the product that will eventually reach the market is developed.

Market introduction

After sufficient prototyping the product can be introduced to the market. Product presentation is achieved by conducting demonstration trails at farmers. Thereby growers are introduced to new products and possible benefits of the new/optimised product until the development of a better product or version.
